My music

I've been casually making music for the last 10 years or so. Sometimes to imitate a style that I liked, sometimes to experiment, or sometimes just because I wanted to. Here's a few things I made:

  • Doorbraak

    January 24, 2024
A suspenseful piece of music made for a book trailer.
  • Aurora Borealis

    April 05, 2023
An ambient piece originally made as part of an entry to a sound design contest.
  • Toothbrushing Alarm

    May 16, 2022
I thought it might be fun to make a fancy alarm sound, so I made this tooth-brushing alarm.
  • Desert Marbles

    May 04, 2022
Another song to accompany my partner's illustration. This one attempts to invoke the feelings of traveling through a desert.
  • Campfire Concerto

    April 18, 2021
Another song to accompany my partner's illustration. This one attempts to invoke the feelings of a cozy campfire jam session.
  • A forest creek

    April 04, 2021
A bit melancholic, but still warm — a song to accompany an illustration my partner made.
  • Music for a timelapse

    March 08, 2021
Although I've done plenty of playing around with music, it had been a while since I've last actually made something like a song, so when my partner wanted to upload timelapse videos of her illustrations to TikTok, we thought it would be a great challenge to make songs to accompany it.
  • Ambient guitar

    2019-present
As a way of relaxing and experimenting with music, I spend a fair amount of time playing improvised ambient music with my guitar and pedals. This page contains a collection of ambient guitar recordings I've made over the years.
  • Odd

    July 17, 2019
Another Thom Yorke inspired song that I felt like making after the release of his (amazing) ANIMA) alb...
  • Swirlies

    June 23, 2017
A song in which I tried to combine a rhythm similar to Drum & Bass, but with the typical shoegaze-y and airy aesthe...
  • Crunch Time

    March 21, 2017
An experiment with sturdy electronic beats. The rhythm here is very inspired by the song The Butcher by Radioh...
  • Generative Music

    2017 - present
An experiment in programming a generative music system (basically: teaching my computer how to compose ambient music), inspired by some of Brian Eno's work. Especially the album Reflection and the apps he made in collaboration with Peter Chilvers.
  • Rainicorn Forest

    June 05, 2013
I wanted to mix shoegaze with electronic music that I was listening to a lot at the time (probably Thom Yorke). Thi...
  • Air Travel

    December 10, 2012
Inspired by regularly messing around with with a looper and lots or reverb, post-rock and other stuff.
