About this website

This website was built and designed in 2014, but was refreshed in 2026, mostly under the hood. It now runs on Astro. It’s typeset in ATC Arquette by Avondale Type Co. I like it.

Except for some color and font changes, the design for this website is largely unchanged from 2014! And it still looks great imo. That said, I hope to give it a bit of a redesign in the future (i’ve been saying that for 8 years now).

CSS

The design for the website is evolving slowly over time, but let’s say the CSS is a bit in-limbo right now. In 2014 I constructed my website with my own CSS utility classes framework, Nebula.css. Although this worked well, it never really became a complete product like Tailwind and was subsequently abandoned. Since then, I’ve been running a mix; utility classes from my framework, additional Tailwind-style utility classes, and plain CSS. I’m particularly charmed by the approach of of Andy Bell recently, so I might use that if I ever decide to redo the styles.
