What I was up to

An overview of stuff I was working on or other stuff that kept me occupied in July 2019. Inspired by the movement of /now pages.

Projects

Work wise, there’s not that many things going on at the moment. I’m happy with some of the recent work at Boords. We’ve succesfully introduced Typescript to the codebase and have done some major refactoring of some parts of the frontend code. Some neat stuff lined up for 2019 as well.

I’ve picked up a new side project: For a while, I’ve been interested in the work of James Ryan and the simulation of a virtual town that’s part of some of his work. It simulates virtual inhabitants and their personalities, jobs, rivalries, relationships, and uses that to develop the town over time. I have grown quite an interest in these type of generative mechanics, so I’ve been experimenting with creating a similar thing for fun.

Things I liked a lot recently:

Without elaborating too much, here’s a small list of shows and other entertainment I’ve been enjoying recently:

  • ☀️ Spring in Hastings!
  • 📺 Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 6
  • 📺 Community
  • 📺 Tuca & Bertie
  • 📺 Good Omens
  • 🕹 Divinity: Original Sin 2
  • 🕹 The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim (again!)

Perhaps I should read a book again 😕
