What I was up to

An overview of stuff I was working on or other stuff that kept me occupied in January 2021. Inspired by the movement of /now pages.

Projects

At Boords, we’ve recently launched an spreadsheet-like view for managing the frames of your storyboard (something I’ve been working on for quite a while). Work has now moved on to enhancements of the frame editor.

While I had been learning iOS development and trying to make my own app, I’m taking a small break from it because I ran in to some rather frustrating issues, and I couldn’t find any solutions. Instead, I’m spending some more time playing guitar and learning music.

Music

I’ve invested a bit more into my pedalboard recently, and have been enjoying playing more. I’ve also finally put some of the results of my experiments on SoundCloud in a playlist as a way of showing what I’ve been doing. They’re all 1-ish minutes excerpts of 20-40 minutes recordings.

Games

Although mostly immune to the hype, and cautious because of a lot of criticism for the game, I decided to take a swing at Cyberpunk 2077. I’m actually pleasantly surprised, I’ve put a lot of hours in there over the course of the christmas holidays, and I’m having a great time.

I’ve been lacking a game with such a vivid world and characters. It’s not perfect, but what is, really?

Other Entertainment

During the last 1,5 months we’ve been blessed with new seasons of multiple shows we’re a fan of, Summer Camp Island, Hilda, Disenchantment, and Adventure Time: Distant Lands have all released new episodes, which is great! Additionally, we’ve been binging New Girl, and we continue to listening to audiobooks from Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series. Currently we’re listening to Thud!.
